Bangladesh Society of Plant Science and Technology (BSPST) was established in 2020 with the aim to enhance plant science especially plant physiology, ecology, anatomy, embryology, and morphological studies and research in Bangladesh. The goals and objectives of the society are to bring together the Crop Botanist, Agricultural Botanist, Plant Physiologist, and Ecologist working in various fields and share their experiences and ideas for boosting the academic and research activities. The BSPST is committed to publishing a refereed journal and arranging national and international conferences.
The society encompasses five types of member namely, life member, general member, fellow member, associate member and student member.
Objectives of the Society
1. To cater wellbeing, protection and safeguard of the society’s members towards employment, promotion and overall improvement of the plant scientists;
2. To organise seminar/conferences/workshop/panel discussion periodically to address the challenges/improvements of plant science & technology in the tropical and subtropical regions;
3. To propose up to date and unified course-curricula in educational institutes for such discipline;
4. To publish a scientific journal/magazine of the society to foster academia research activities;
5. To promote science through providing scholarship, certification & reward to the scholars
Who Can be a Member
The membership of the Society shall be open to all post graduates of Crop Botany/Agricultural Botany/Crop Physiology & Ecology/allied subject having basic degree in agriculture.
However, in special cases graduate from other relevant subject (s) working as academician/researcher in Crop Botany /Agricultural Botany/Crop Physiology & Ecology/Plant Physiology department / division of agricultural university/agricultural research institute is eligible to be a member of the society.
